Pakistan’s Official Submission to the 97th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. Set in a town divided by duty and class, the story follows Vincent, the son of a glassmaker, and Alliz, the colonel’s daughter and a violinist, as they fall in love. However, as their bond grows, rising tensions between their families threaten to tear them apart. Told through stunning hand-drawn animation, The Glassworker is a poetic tale of first love, family and the price of staying true to your art.

Note: As it tells the story of young love in a war-torn town, the hand-drawn film has moments of intense violence, including bombings, painful screams, and even a bloody limb dismemberment. These scenes underline the film’s anti-war sentiment and its messages about the fragility of art, love, and childhood innocence. Ultimately, it also highlights the importance of passion, creativity, devotion, and staying true to your art while offering a window into Pakistani folklore and mythology, as well as the art of glassmaking.
