In the year 2932, humans live on tall platforms high in the clouds, amidst beautiful gardens and animals. They have also mastered time travel, using light reflecting suits and gem technology to fly along rainbows to past eras. Young Arco dreams of time traveling with his parents and older sister to see the dinosaurs, but, by law, he cannot fly until he is twelve. Determined to prove himself, Arco steals his sister’s time travel apparel/apparatus but accidentally journeys to the year 2075 instead of the Jurassic era. There, he meets Iris, a young girl trying to figure out her place in her own time. They team up to figure out how to get Arco back home, setting off a series of events that will change them forever.

Arco also is in essence a film about climate change. Much like FLOW and THE WILD ROBOT, two powerful animated sci-fi films of last year, the changes in the earth’s ecosystems are not always directly discussed but are at the forefront of each character’s interactions with the world.
Voice Actors: Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Andy Samberg, Oscar Tresanini, Margot Ringard Oldra
