BELLE & SEBASTIAN
France, 2013 (w/English subtitles) / Dir. Nicolas Vanier / 104 min
Rated PG (threat of violence, tense moments)
Sumptuously shot in the sweeping Rhone-Alps, this is the inspiring story of an orphan named Sebastian who befriends Belle, a wild dog wandering in the mountains. Living on the Swiss border during the Nazi occupation of France, Sebastian bravely enlists to guide Jewish refugees safely across the Alps to Switzerland. BELLE & SEBASTIAN is a charming homage to the beloved, live-action nature films of classic Disney, but with a pulse-pounding World War II subplot that will enthrall audiences of all ages.
