DESCRIPTION:Digital Learning Ideas at GiveMe5 Media Teachers Lab\n\n\nPresented by GiveMe5 in collaboration with Media Smart Libraries. \n  \nEducators\, librarians and others wishing to incorporate digital media in their curriculum are invited to the GiveMe5 Media Teachers Lab. This lab is an “open space” for dialogue with experienced film and media educators working at all levels from kindergarten to graduate school. Learn how to develop film curriculum\, run a film program on a small budget\, know what equipment is needed and how to use web resources to teach film/media\, including the new PCFF Film Hub while supporting the growing media/film education network in Rhode Island! Have students who want to start a film club?  Send them along.  All experience levels are welcome. Refreshments provided. Help select films for the 2017 Providence Children’s Film Festival\, returning February 17-26. \nJoin Providence Children’s Film Festival\, Cranston Public Library and Media Smart Libraries to learn about basic film elements and how to use the PCFF rating system. Young or old\, everyone is invited to share critical comments after each short film (kids go first). You may be surprised to see how a film loved by some viewers is downright disagreeable to others…but be prepared to explain! PCFF Director of Programming Eric Bilodeau moderates this lively and enjoyable event. \nThis workshop is part of the Media Smart Libraries program which was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services\, Grant # LG-07-14-0045-14. \nAll ages event.
